For the 2018-2019 school year, I have been deeply engaged with my Capstone which is the culminating project (a sort-of Master's Thesis) for the fulfillment of my Master of Arts in Education degree at Fort Lewis College. On this page you will find a variety of blueprints and accompanying observations for classrooms that I have substituted in. Each blueprint was designed using a program called SmartDraw (read my blog post about it here). For my Capstone Project I am looking specifically at classroom environments and how individual room arrangements and designs contribute to the performance of those who occupy the space. In other words, the ultimate goal of this project is to learn how particular classroom environments might lend a substitute (myself) the proper grounding for a classroom of their (my) own. My plan is to become an English teacher, and I already have a multitude of ideas for the classroom I will one day be designing. My hopes are that, through this project, the many classrooms I encounter will lend me even more ideas. I have become, in a way, a connoisseur of classrooms.
